„MEMOIRS” is a cycle of 5 compositions for improvising violin, two accompanying instruments (cello, harp), vocal, rythm section and orchestra. The music is enriched by a video, interactive with the improvisation during the concert and will be an inspiration for it.
„MEMOIRS” are created on a meeting point for jazz and classical music. It can be particularly seen in the polyrhythmic elements in the orchestral parts and extensive improvised parts used by the composer. The author has also put an effort to the attempt of transposition of his unique and recognisable sound to other solo instruments (cello, har, vocal).
„MEMOIRS” are a record of composer’s state of mind and emotions resulting from travels, people and places met during those trips and their impact on him. It is an impressionist tale that should awake the imagination and make a good use of the rich sound of the orchestra to transfer the audience into Adam Bałdych’s musical world.

"Brothers" - new album / ACT Music
The new album "Brothers" consists of nine songs - eight new, original compositions by Adam Bałdych and a beautiful version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah”, which form a coherent and complete whole. The music maintains in European improvised music stream, crossing borders of jazz, classical music and elements of indie rock / alternative, which in total give Bałdych’s music a specific "surface roughness and rebellious aura.” Additional voice is introduced by an outstanding Norwegian saxophonist Tore Brunborg (known for his work with Manu Katche or Tord Gustavsen), which blends with the violin sound, creating extraordinary collage.
We are happy to announce that Adam is nominated to Polish Music Industry Award - Fryderyk 2017.

Last week we rocked Germany and Norway touring with Helge Lien Trio, here are some very nice reviews we've got:
"There are not many violinists who’s sound still in the softest Pianissimo remains absolutely clean. How Baldych manages to explode out of this, is stunning: these incredible dynamics, this extreme energy level, at the same this delicacy and ability to make the right musical decision every millisecond… In Baldych everyone can see what blissful freedom of musical language results if technical limits are no longer relevant."
Roald Helgheim in Dagsavisen about our Maijazz concert:
"With a number of exciting concerts in the opening with names like Anneli Drecker, Marius Neset, Mats Gustavsson and Olga Konkova on the poster, came one of the festival's big highlights, with Helge Lien Trio together with the Polish violin player Adam Baldych. The quartet has already released a CD, and the exciting festival scene Track 5 witnessed an extraordinary experience."
Terje Mosnes in jazzinorge.no about our Maijazz concert: "...they gave both a beautiful and engaging concert for a near full set Track 5. Trio and violinist suit each other in the strong melody based repertoire, naturally enough, since all four masters the care and subtle nuanced the art better than most."
Johan Hauknes in saltpeanuts about our Maijazz concert: "Poland has once again created a violinist that - we all remember Michal Urbaniak - it will go rumors about for years to come."
morgenweb.de writes: "....an exciting, varied and touching concert..."

The Award was handed to Adam at the Great Jazz Gala in Grand Theatre (Łódź, PL) where Adam also performed with his Imaginary Quartet and Verneri Pohjolą as special guest on trumpet.
"Adam Bałdych is a real “violin hooligan” and his stage impersonation is bursting to rock'n'roll. Real chaos, but under control. Ulrich Olshausen from "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" wrote "He has, without doubt, the greatest technique of any jazz violinist alive today. We can expect everything of him"" and was one hundred percent right! With an amazing performance at the Great Jazz Gala, Adam proves that he deserves his awards - Echo Jazz 2013 - the most important German music award bestowed on artists by the German music industry and Grand Prix as Artist of the Year 2012, received only one year after the Grand Prix in Melomans Hope category, which makes it even more special"
- that is how Adam’s performance was commented at Gazeta Wyborcza.

The awards, which are commonly known in Poland as "Jazz Oscars', were awarded for the achievements in 2011. The confirmation of this decision, which we are very happy about, is the interest in Adam Bałdych’s music abroad, which can be seen in the release of Adam’s latest album “Imaginary Room” by the prestigious ACT Music label in 2012 and many concerts promoting the new material in Poland and foreign countries.
Adam Baldych came back from Germany where he took part in ACT New Faces Tour giving with his quartet four concerts – in Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich and Wolfsburg. The ACT tour was organized to promote ACT New Faces – Adam Baldych and a hungarian saxophone player Gabor Bolla.
"Adam Baldych profiles himself as a tasteful stylist with, especially for his young age, astonishingly clear concept. Despite his, at times insanely complex phrasing and intensity of playing, he never looses track of the composition. Baldych’s impressive art doesn’t let itself blind by her own sophistication and even in complex passages favours individual expression before sheer virtuosity”.

To violinist Adam Baldych, being called "Evil" is a compliment. After all, how else would one describe his violin playing, which plumbs the deepest recesses of the soul with its fiery intensity? That Baldych’s latest album is entitled “Magical Theatre” is no exaggeration. Baldych constructs a bridge that shortens the gap between classical music and jazz, even weaving in influences from Polish folk. Throughout it all Baldych delivers a non-stop display of violin mastery, the kind of dazzling performances that can put a young artist on the global map.
For Baldych, his journey to "Magical Theatre" began at a young age. "I decided to go to music school at the age of nine," Baldych recalled. "It was because of my older sister, who is a singer. She was the first person who got me interested in music and inspired me to do that." Baldych was well aware of Poland’s rich musical heritage, too. “We have a long history in music, especially in piano (Frédéric Chopin) and violin (Henryk Wieniawski).”
Two years after Baldych started playing the violin, he began winning contests for it. It was these accomplishments that encouraged Baldych to pursue music as a career. However, Baldych refused to stay complacent and continued to study the greats. "I was really inspired by Eastern Europe composers as Sergei Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky," Baldych revealed. "I love the spirit they have in their music." At the age of 13, Baldych discovered jazz and decided to continue his artistic development towards that direction. "It gave me freedom," Baldych explained.
And freedom is the essence of "Magical Theatre." Baldych liberates himself from the confines of both the jazz and classical worlds, letting his imagination run rampant on his violin, sweeping listeners along with him.

I'm happy to tell you that my new album that I worked on last months is now availble on CdBaby & Itunes (also Amazon and other sites soon).
The album was recorded in amazing studio, built in old mill - RecPublica Studios. The video from the sesion is in Multimedia page.
You can feel the atmosphere of this special place, specially in songs like "Princess ballet room" or "The room of Imagination". Theres also a lot of groovy, modern playing - "Party Pace", "The game of destiny"
(I'm glad I have Piotr Zaczek on bass & Michal Bryndal on drums).
My last 2 years was full of theatre works. I composed a lot for performances and had a time to learn from other arts that takes a part in it. It was also a time for inspirations. One of them was a Hermann Hesse's novel "Steppenwolf". Also in this album, every song is dadicated to the imaginations from Hesse's "Magical Theatre" ( one of the scenes from the novel).
I couldn't get this sound without Pawel Tomaszewski on piano and Andrzej Gondek on guitar.
There's also a special guests: Josh Lawrence on trumpet, Kuba Cywinski on upright bass and Adam Sak on background guitars.
They all made my music sound really wonderfull and now I want to share this emotions with you !
As soon as you listen this album let me know what's your feelings abut it. Hope you enjoy this, see you on the concerts !!

Adam Bałdych was given a honourable mention in "Ale Sztuka" plebiscite organized by Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper, Polskie Radio Zachód radio and TVP television. Ale Sztuka awards the most interesting annual cultural events and the most interesting artist in Lubuskie province. Adam was nominated among such celebrities as Raz Dwa Trzy band or Hrabi cabaret.
Hanna Kaup who nominated Adam for the award described Adam's work in Gazeta Wyborcza saying:
"… I would vote for the best music in Gorzów Wielkopolski which is the music of Adam Bałdych. He is an art himself and everything he does just proves it. Among other things he composed the music for "Żegnaj Książę" directed by Rafał Matusz, "Przyjazne dusze" directed by Robert Czechowski or "Allo Allo" of Jan Tomaszewski performances. He also created a Damage Control project which was succesful after its first tour.
Filip Łobodziński wrote in "Newsweek": " An album of Damage Control quartet l eaded by a violin virtuoso coming from Gorzow struck me down with its genius".
The other project prepared for Era Nowe Horyzonty Festival "Możdżer - Danielsson - Bałdych" proves Adam is a high classy musician, who finds his inspiration in the music of Rachmaninoff, Guns'n'Roses, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix…
But the most fascinating thing is that no matter the size of the concert hall or the audience, Adam always performs at his highest level. I will never forget his performance at IV High School's 20th anniversary. Adam is an absolwent of one. It is not a big deal to play at the huge stage, plug to a highest level equipment and build the atmosphere of a great event while standing in the spotlights. The real thing is to show the real Art at the second-rate stage, without any effects and play so intensely so the man could catch oneself on listening rapt to it. So the audience was stunned and went into raptures, so the eyes were staring at the bow, which had created a symphony of sounds that built the atmosphere of Great Art. "Ooh, he can make it good!" - you could hear on the 16th of October 2010, after a short concert in AWF hall.
I have to add: "Ale Adam! Ale Sztuka!" [What an Adam! What an Art!]. Because Adam Bałdych is like Nigel Kennedy coming from Gorzów - so it sounded like it presented Bogusław Dziekański with all that jazz. By the way, this young musician is partly a "child" of Bogusław.
So if we intend to compete and win this most important statuette of a real art in our province, I cannot conceive of Adam not taking place among the best. It is him who determines the level and shape of our culture in the first decade of XXI century. "
Adam Bałdych and his project Damage Control are going to one month tour with brand new music !! The band will perform with great young Canadian trumpetter - Jacques Seguin. "Sir Arne's Treasure"
Leszek Mozdzer / Lars Danielsson / Adam Baldych
The classical Sir Arne's Treasure by Mauritz Stiller, one of the co-founders - along Victor Sjöström and Julius Jaenzon - of the "Swedish film school", is one of the most characteristic achievements of the golden age of Swedish cinematography (1916-1924). Its originality was based on the bold use of outdoor filming and epic narrative, inspired by literature. This is one of the most outstanding phenomena in the history of cinema.
Its plot is set in the 16th century. The film shows the dramatic escape of Scottish officers, former mercenaries for the Swedish king, now oppressed for their rebellion. The story's main issue is the love of Sir Archie, who is responsible for crimes, for the sincere, innocent Elsalill, whose family fell victim to the Scots' violence. The tragic fate of the main characters, their dilemmas, the constant game of passion and suspicion, restrained by Protestant morality - all these are reflected in the film's austere form and images of nature, which have an important role here.
The screening will be accompanied by a performance by the Leszek Możdżer Trio. Możdżer - the talented composer and pianist, together with the Swedish bass-player Lars Danielsson and violinist Adam Bałdych will play music composed specifically for this occasion.
